ART, JAZZ, RODEO, STROLLING VIOLINIST

The weekend offers art events, music and rodeo. Where else can you get such a mix?
The watercolor above is by local favorite Lura Francis. She has a following here and will be featured in her own show at Calaveras Gallery along with Sarah Evans during the month of May through June 10th. A reception 2 to 4 pm. Saturday opens the show, 22 Main St. San Andreas. Info 209 754-1774.
Murphys Art Walk will take place 3 to 6 pm. Saturday, with 20 galleries, retailers and wine tasting rooms hosting 30 artists. Info 209 728-3444 Ext. 416
A preview performance of Sierra Reperatory's "Sisters of Swing The Story of the Andrew Sisters", will be at Fallon House Theatre, Thursday 7 p.m. Info/tickets 209-536-0270.
Saxaphone great, Ernie watts will be featured at Columbia College's last concert of the season, May 13th, Dogwood Forum, 7 p.m. Info 209 588-5211.
The Tuolumne Co. Sheriff's Posse presents the 52nd annual Mother Lode Roundup on Sat. and Sun. A Parade 10 a.m. on Sat. downtown Sonora starts the event with two days of rodeo, a Sat. night dance and Mother's Day Breakfast Sun. at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds.
If those events don't interest you, come walk with our local branch of a very active Sierra Club Sat. doing the Mohegan Mine Trail, 209 962-7585.
Copperopolis regularly has Karaoke on Thursdays at 8 p.m and live music on Fridays and Saturdays at the Outcast Bar, Lake Tulloch Resort, 7260 O'Byrnes Ferry Rod.
Camps Restaurant, Greenhorn Creek, Angels Camp features Bobby Billeci on Sax, Fridays at 7 pm.
Railtown rides are free for Moms on Sunday. The strolling violinist makes for a nice atmosphere for mom and everybody. Come visit the Motherlode.
