Bill Mathias of Murphys admits he was born in the wrong era. He loves harness leather, horses and the creak of the buggy wheels. He ply's the streets of Murphys and entertains the tourists with a buggy ride. His horse Jim is one of several that have given some city kids their first up-close touch of a horse's velvety nose. But, these days, the ridership doesn't even begin to pay for his horse's hay, let alone maintainance on his buggy. This 25 year icon of the old west is the only cab service in town.
